Situated in the centre of the city, the staff endeavour to be professional. Prices from our point of view ok. Numerous bars / restaurants etc. just around the corner.
Unfortunately, breakfast is not recommended, at least not for those with low expectations. From the second day on we went to a nearby baker. The shower is so leaky that the bathroom was under water after 1 x shower. In the bathroom mould, no window, door broken. Dangerous neighborhood.

the hotel was situated in a run down area which wasn't terrible, making it a good budget option. We found the room to be clean and serviced daily, with a nice breakfast spread included.
We did notice that the hotel could do with a bit of refurbishing, particularly in the bathroom.

Got a twin room instead of a double but for 1 night was ok Asked staff to check out the air con as not 100% working & come the summer it would be hot

The only positive point is that the hotel is very near to the metro station
There are many negative points that I felt. The staff was not at all good... rooms are so small...breakfast was worst... and so on.. I definetly won't recommend to my friends

We stayed for a long weekend in the hotel in May 2011. Rio Athens it's a nice, friendly, not too expensive and well located hotel in Athens citycenter. The metro stop is just around the corner, metro station Metaxourghio. The staff (reception, bar & restaurant) are very friendly and help you as much as they can, the breakfast was really good, the rooms are clean and tidy. The restaurant and bar downstairs, serves lovely greek and Italian food, draught beer and refreshing drinks and cocktails .The breakfast is purely continental to suit everybody's tastes. The staff is welcoming and helpful and also extremely knowledgeable. From the hotel, you can walk to the Acropolis, the new Acropolis Museum, the National Archaiological museum near Omonia square and the Greek Parliament in Syntagma square and the main shopping areas within minutes walk in Hermou street. The night life area PSIRI and GAZI are very close too. Billy Redford San Diego,CA
everything was good!
